When The Swedish Aliens Appeals Board was replaced by the migration courts in 2006, the purpose was to enhance administrative justice in the asylum procedure by handing it over to the judiciary. A new dissertation reviews how migration laws work in practice in the courts when the asylum seeker's trustworthiness is questioned. It concludes that even though Sweden has had independent migration courts for 10 years, it is still great uncertainties regarding how to determine who has a right to asylum and who doesn't.
